Two structural steel beams meet end-to-end with a one-inch maximum typical clearance, joined by connection plates on both sides secured with twelve one-inch diameter A325-SC high-strength bolts. Seven-eighths-inch thick stiffener plates matching the beam flange width are welded to the web and flanges using half-inch and five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. The top of steel and beam sizes are sized per plan, maintaining alignment across the collector span.
