A structural steel column splice connection is centered on a symmetry line. A full-height stiffener or shear plate is provided on each side, sized per plan with a three-eighth inch minimum thickness. The connection is secured with a plate one-half inch larger than the width of both members, fastened using four three-quarter inch diameter A325SC bolts.
