This plan view detail shows a brace frame connection at a hollow structural section column. Wide flange beams connect to the column, which is capped with a three-eighths inch plate that is seal welded all around. Buckling restrained braces, provided by others, connect to the column via gusset plates. These gusset plates are welded to the column with one-half inch fillet welds, with the plate-to-column connection verified with the brace manufacturer. Hollow structural section blocking is installed between the beams as indicated in the elevations.
