An existing concrete coupling beam is scheduled for demolition within an existing concrete shear wall of variable thickness. Diagonal reinforcement runs through the coupling beam and ties into the adjacent vertical shear wall reinforcement typical on each side. Existing structural steel beams and concrete floor slabs located beyond the coupling beam require shoring as needed prior to commencing demolition.
