Steel beams frame into a column sized per plan using a 1-1/4 inch thick steel plate with a yield strength of 50 KSI, secured with eight 3/4-inch diameter A307 erection bolts. Shear plates measuring 3/4 inches by 14 inches by 1 foot 2 inches connect the steel beams to the column, fastened with four 3/4-inch diameter machine bolts per side. Welds include a 5/16-inch fillet weld and a 3/8-inch weld applied to three sides typically. A 6x nailer is attached above per framing requirements.
