Precast concrete panels connect across a vertical joint using embedded steel plates secured by four seven-eighths inch diameter welded studs and two number six reinforcing bars measuring three feet long on each leg. A bridging plate measuring one inch by ten inches by one foot eight inches spans across the joint and receives a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld on three sides typically. Non-shrink grout fills the recess after welding is complete, with wire mesh tack welded in place.
