Buckling-restrained braced frame connections feature a gusset plate attached to the steel beam and column with a one-and-a-half-inch clearance. Continuity plates are welded to the column at the top and bottom flanges, and stiffener plates are provided as required by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer. The beam web and flanges are welded to the column flange, aligning with the work point of the brace. An architectural column wrap surrounds the structural column assembly at the concourse level top of steel.
