The assembly consists of a steel core housed within a tubular or pipe casing, surrounded by grout fill and a proprietary interface material. A cruciform core plate extends through the interior, terminating at lug plates with standard bolt holes at each end for connection. A one-eighth inch seal weld is specified at the casing end. Gusset plates connect to the lug plates, with dimensions governed by the structural schedule.
