The concrete column vertical reinforcement extends through the joint with standard hooks terminating into the beam reinforcement per schedule. Beam reinforcement continues through the intersection with specified four-inch clear cover. The construction joint interface between the column and beam is intentionally roughened for shear transfer. Column ties and beam stirrups provide confinement throughout the joint assembly.
