A pipe sleeve penetrates a profiled steel roof deck and is reinforced with an 18-gauge square plate secured by number 10 sheet metal screws at 6 inches on center each way. Plate sizing varies according to the pipe diameter, using a 12-inch square plate for pipes up to 4 inches in diameter, a 24-inch square plate for pipes up to 8 inches in diameter, and a 36-inch square plate for pipes under 12 inches in diameter.
