A glue-laminated timber beam bears on a timber column and is notched at the bearing connection. A concealed knife plate is inserted into the glue-laminated beam and secured with three through-bolts. A cross-laminated timber deck bears on top of the glulam beam and is fastened using Simpson SDCP timber boundary screws.
