A concrete spread footing supports a column secured by a base plate anchored into the foundation. A slab-on-grade surrounds the column with a designated blockout area providing three inches of minimum concrete cover all around the column and base plate. Reinforcement sizing and footing dimensions are scheduled per plan with equal spacing from the column centerline. Clearances include three inches typical at the sides, two inches minimum at the top, and three inches at the bottom.
