Concrete placement occurs at a concrete column to slab joint. Where the column concrete compressive strength exceeds one point four times the slab concrete strength, higher-strength concrete must be puddled within the hatched slab zone extending two feet out from the column face. Construction joints delimit the transition between the column and slab pours. This requirement ensures proper load transfer and material strength continuity through the intersection.
