A 1/2-inch by 12-inch by 1-foot 2-inch steel plate is cast into the edge of a 6-inch concrete slab and anchored with four #6 bent anchors. The embedded plate bears upon an HSS 12 column sized per framing plan, connected with a 1/4-inch fillet weld on three sides typically. An additional 3/16-inch weld connects the plate assembly at the slab edge.
