A skewed steel beam frames into a wide-flange column using a bent plate connection. The bent plate aligns with the working point on the column centerline and provides a minimum one-half inch clearance to the beam flange. Weld and plate sizes follow the typical steel connection standard. This connection applies when the beam skew complies with standard limits.
