A structural steel brace and column bear upon a 64-inch by 40-inch by 2-inch A992 steel base plate set over 1-1/2 inches of non-shrink grout. The base plate is anchored to the concrete footing by eleven 7/8-inch-diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 36 threaded rods with 3/4-inch by 4-inch by 4-inch steel plate washers, double nuts, and a 25-inch embedment depth. A 3-1/2-inch-deep by 1-1/2-inch-thick by 19-inch-long A36 steel shear lug is welded to the assembly with a 5/16-inch fillet weld to transfer lateral loads into the concrete. The reinforced concrete footing incorporates number 5 'Z' bars at 18 inches on center. Additional connection information is referenced on sheet 2 of S5.2.
