A steel beam connects to a wall assembly using a three-quarter-inch thick plate fastened with six one-and-one-quarter-inch diameter Group B bolts in standard slotted holes in the beam web. Grade 65 stiffener plates measuring three-quarters by forty inches are attached to the beam flanges with complete joint penetration welds or custom slot welds. Complete joint penetration welds using E80 electrodes are specified at the top and bottom plates. Slots are provided in the CPSW at the flange plates as typical.
