This structural concrete detail establishes a sequential construction joint between a first and second pour. The joint incorporates a shear key dimensioned six inches narrower than the beam width with a one-half-inch bevel on all four sides. Main reinforcing bars continue through the joint, supplemented by four number five bars centered on the joint at four feet zero inches in length. The concrete section is divided into thirds vertically to proportion the placement of the shear key.
