Plywood sheathing panels are applied with the face grain oriented perpendicular to the tongue and groove decking below. Four-foot edges are staggered as shown, with long continuous edges and short staggered joints across the assembly. Panel edge nailing requires eight-penny nails at six inches on center, while field nailing is specified as eight-penny nails at twelve inches on center each way. All roof nailing must be inspected prior to the application of any roofing material.
