A beam connects to a wide flange column web using a typical shear plate connection with four bolts and a three-sixteenths inch weld. Three-eighths inch top and bottom stiffener plates are welded to the column flange and web with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds and feature cropped corners to clear the column k-area. An optional beam frame condition is indicated on the opposite side of the column web with dashed lines. Shear plate information is sized per plan.
