A structural steel column base plate and anchor bolt assembly is set within a concrete blockout. The blockout receives a concrete infill after column erection is complete. A two-inch clearance is maintained at the blockout perimeter. Construction joints are positioned to align with blockout corners or avoid the blockout entirely.
