Steel deck openings are framed using steel channel headers and structural angles positioned below the deck. For smaller openings with dimension D between six inches and twenty-four inches, 2x2x1/4-inch angles run below the deck with 5/8-inch diameter fasteners. For intermediate openings where dimension D ranges from twenty-four inches up to six feet, C3x4.1 channels frame the opening. For larger openings up to eight feet two inches, C4x5.4 channels provide the framing support. Steel deck flutes are adjusted as required to achieve proper bearing on the channels.
