Metal decking must maintain a minimum twenty-four inch clearance from any opening edge, and decking shall not end or be spliced within this zone. Openings are restricted from supporting mechanical equipment above without additional supplementary framing. Spacing between joist centerlines is defined per plan with a twenty-four inch maximum dimension limitation.
