A C10x15.3 channel stringer is connected to a hollow structural section column via a three-quarter-inch steel plate. The connection utilizes two seven-eighth-inch diameter A325 bolts centered within four-inch long horizontally slotted holes to allow for adjustment. A one-and-a-half-inch minimum to three-inch maximum clearance is maintained between the channel and the column face. Channel-to-channel welds are specified to be ground smooth to achieve an architecturally pleasing finish.
