An HSS strongback is anchored to an existing concrete panel using seven-eighths-inch-diameter A36 threaded rods set in Hilti HIT-RE 500-V3 epoxy at twenty-four inches on center, starting a maximum of twenty-four inches from the ends. Non-destructive testing must be performed to verify the location of existing rebar before fabrication so that reinforcing is avoided when drilling for post-installed anchors and concrete dowels.
