Long-span and deep long-span steel joists frame into a structural steel column utilizing WT-shapes and connection plates. A WT 7x21.5 by six and a half inches long supports LH joists, while a WT 10.5x27.5 by six and a half inches long supports DLH joists with bolting per general structural notes. A three-quarter-inch thick plate sized to the column depth plus one inch is welded to the column flange. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size are applied at exterior columns and where struts are called out on the plan.
