A pipe metal handrail mounts to a stair stringer channel using a quarter-inch thick stiffener plate welded with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds typical. The stair landing connects to the structural channel sized per plan. The stair fabricator provides the pipe metal rail in accordance with the Uniform Building Code.
