A structural steel column is anchored to a reinforced concrete foundation pier with an ASTM F1554 Grade 36 anchor bolt assembly and base plate. The pier features vertical reinforcing bars and ties, surrounded by a 2-foot-zero-inch diameter concrete column cover with six number 4 vertical bars and number 3 ties spaced at 12 inches on center. A half-inch foam wrap is specified around the cover when concrete paving is used. The surrounding finish grade, asphaltic concrete paving, or concrete slab interfaces with the pier at a depth verified with civil drawings.
