A 12-inch by 12-inch by 1 1/4-inch thick steel plate features a centered 3 1/2-inch by 3 1/2-inch by 1/4-inch hollow structural section locator spigot. The plate is anchored by four 5/8-inch diameter rods positioned in 1-inch diameter holes within the cross-laminated timber panel above, complete with nuts and washers. Left and right sides of the spigot HSS wall include a 3-inch tall by full-width cut out at the base to facilitate welding access to the inside wall of the spigot. The cross-laminated timber panel itself is omitted for clarity.
