A structural steel column base plate and anchor assembly is mounted atop a reinforced concrete grade beam that extends down to a drilled shaft foundation. The base plate rests on a three-inch layer of non-shrink grout over the concrete element. Anchor bolts extend eighteen inches into the concrete grade beam with hooked or anchored ends detailed per the structural schedule. Reinforcement bars within the grade beam and drilled shaft are specified by the structural schedule and plan documents.
