A reinforced concrete curb sits atop a concrete slab poured over a steel deck and supporting steel beam where it occurs. The curb measures up to 10 inches in width and is reinforced with two number 4 continuous horizontal bars at the top and bottom. Number 4 dowels spaced at 12 inches on center anchor the curb into the slab below with a 6-inch extension. The contact surface at the cold joint is roughened to a quarter-inch amplitude for bond transfer.
