Continuity plates are positioned on both sides of the column web and aligned with the column flanges to transfer high flange forces from framing members into the column profile. The plates feature a corner cope at the column web to clear the web-to-flange fillet, with dimensions specified per AISC k-distance guidelines. Optional weld configurations are indicated at the plate edges according to structural engineering requirements, and plate thicknesses are sized based on the connecting beam flanges.
