A handrail is anchored into a pipe sleeve embedded within a cast-in-place concrete wall and slab assembly, filled tight with non-shrink grout. The supporting wall has a ten-inch width, a tapered foundation stem, and reinforcing consisting of number four bars at eighteen inches on center and continuous horizontal number four bars at twelve inches on center, along with two continuous number four bars at the base. A three-inch by three-inch by one-quarter-inch plate is welded to the pipe sleeve. The adjacent six-inch concrete slab is reinforced with number three bars at eighteen inches on center each way. Finish grade, handrail design, and sleeve placement are coordinated per architectural, landscape, and civil drawings.
