A control joint in a concrete masonry unit wall utilizes continuous horizontal reinforcing bars and vertical bars at each end of the wall segment. The joint incorporates closed end blocks on one side and open end blocks on the other with backer rod and sealant placed at the exterior face. Continuous horizontal bars continue through the control joint and every alternate horizontal bar across the 4-foot spacing. Vertical reinforcing bars are positioned at each end of the opening with solid grouting required per plans.
