A recessed gate box and sleeve assembly are embedded within a concrete floor slab, centered on the gate stem pipe sleeve. A channel drain with a channel drain gate sits adjacent to the recessed space, with the recessed area filled with grout and sloped toward the pipe invert. Two continuous number 7 reinforcing bars run beneath the recessed gate box, matching the slab reinforcement. The width of the recessed gate box is coordinated directly with the manufacturer specifications, maintaining one-inch clear spacing on either side of the channel drain pipe.
