A reinforced concrete grade beam features a keyed construction joint with 38x140 millimeter keys spaced typically along the joint interface. All horizontal reinforcing bars run continuously through the joint, supplemented by additional 15M reinforcing bars measuring 1500 millimeters long at 300 millimeter spacing on each face between keys. The joint is located at midspan and at a maximum spacing of 2000 millimeters.
