A steel girder bearing assembly at a panel joint supports steel roof deck and open web steel joists. A continuous 1/2-inch thick steel plate over a neoprene pad fastens to the steel beam with 3/4-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolts, utilizing 3-inch slotted holes parallel to the joist. Hollow structural section members measuring 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 x 1/4 inches provide blocking between joists alongside an 18-gauge V-notched plate. Brace angles measuring 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 x 1/4 inches are included at every other joist at the braced frame beam only, connected using 1/2-inch thick by 5-inch by 3-inch plates with 3-inch slotted holes and 3/4-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolts.
