Two structural steel beams connect end-to-end utilizing a bolted web connection plate with twelve 1-inch diameter A325-SC slip-critical bolts on each side. The web plate connects the vertical webs with symmetrical edge clearances and a one-inch maximum gap. Seven-eighth-inch thick stiffener plates matching the beam flange width are welded to the top and bottom flanges with five-sixteenth and one-half inch fillet welds. Top of steel elevations and beam sizes are determined per plan.
