A steel framing connection uses a quarter-inch plate measuring five inches by zero feet seven inches and a quarter-inch plate measuring five inches by zero feet five inches welded to the structural members. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds are specified along three sides of the plate connections. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the member to the hollow structural section column. A two-inch clearance and elevation per plan are maintained at the junction.
