An existing unreinforced masonry wall connects to a floor or roof joist assembly using a wall tie and threaded rod anchor. A coupler joins the rod to an existing unreinforced masonry tie rod extending through the wall. Boundary nailing secures the joist framing at the wall interface per sheet S6.02.
