Two structural steel framing connection details compare bolted-only and combined bolted and welded configurations using double angles. A bolted and welded connection utilizes double angles 2L4x4 with the same number and size of bolts in each row, supplemented by welds specified per notes one and three. Edge clearances feature a minimum spacing of 5/8 inch for 7/8 inch diameter bolts and 7/8 inch for 1 inch diameter bolts. A bolted-only connection uses double angles 2L5x5 maintaining minimum edge distances of 1 1/2 inches.
