An HSS hanger connects below a structural steel beam, sized per plan. A WT7x17 shape attaches to the underside of the beam with a quarter-inch fillet weld on both sides. Three-eighths-inch full-height stiffener plates weld inside the beam web directly above the hanger support. A three-eighths-inch base plate closes the bottom of the HSS hanger. A shear tab sized per schedule welds to the HSS hanger with a quarter-inch fillet weld and bolts to the connecting member.
