A buckling-restrained brace with a steel core and surrounding casing connects diagonally between typical steel columns and a built-up beam stub. Gusset plates at the top and bottom frame the brace ends into the structural steel frame using bolted connections. The configuration provides lateral seismic resistance through the structural steel members and brace assembly.
