Steel joist horizontal bridging is anchored to a concrete or masonry wall using a continuous angle measuring L3x3x3/16 by zero feet six inches. The continuous angle is secured with two five-eighths inch diameter expansion anchors spaced at three inches on center, requiring a minimum five inch embedment. The top steel joist chord connects to the continuous angle with a one-eighth inch fillet weld on two sides. The bottom steel joist chord connects with a one-eighth inch fillet weld on one side. Horizontal bridging members between the steel joists are installed per the joist manufacturer specifications.
