This concrete assembly features a slab-on-grade reinforced with number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center. The slab is thickened by six inches over a minimum width of two feet extending past the stair stringer on each side. Additional longitudinal reinforcement consists of three number four bars placed within the thickened section. The stair stringer bears directly onto the thickened slab-on-grade foundation.
