A wide flange steel column bears on a baseplate anchored to a concrete footing. The assembly is secured by four three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts complete with washers and hex nuts, with the nuts tack welded to the anchor bolts. A one-inch plus or minus layer of non-shrink grout fills the space beneath the baseplate. The concrete footing provides a typical three-inch clearance to the reinforcement.
