Roof sub-purlins bear over a hollow structural section steel beam with four-by wood blocking installed between them. Simpson A35 flat framing connectors are secured to each side of each end of the blocking with two connectors per blocking element. The blocking and connectors are anchored to the hollow structural section steel beam using Hilti X-U powder-actuated pins.
