The concrete slab bears on a structural steel beam with the metal deck spanning either direction. An embedded angle measuring 3x3x1/4 inches with 3/4-inch diameter by 6-inch studs spaced at 12 inches on center is cast into the slab edge or installed per equipment manufacturer instructions. Continuous number 4 reinforcing bars run along the slab edge, which may continue downward. Additional reinforcement is provided per the plans and the typical deck edge conditions detail.
