A double angle brace connects to a vertical stiffener plate using two seven-eighths inch diameter A325 bolts. The half-inch thick vertical stiffener plate is welded to the top and bottom flanges of the supporting member with quarter-inch fillet welds. A partial-joint-penetration groove weld secures the connection to the column web and flanges. Standard edge distances and spacing dimensions govern the bolt layout on the brace connection.
