A hollow structural section column bears on a baseplate secured to a concrete footing by four three-quarter-inch threaded rods with hex nuts and washers. A one-inch plus or minus non-shrink grout layer sits below the baseplate over the concrete footing. Anchor bolt locations and clearances adjust relative to adjacent concrete masonry unit or concrete walls where they occur. Fillet weld sizes are determined by baseplate thickness per Table 1, ranging from three-sixteenths to five-sixteenths of an inch. An optional one-inch diameter grout hole is centered in the baseplate.
